Founders

Different expertise. One mission.

Building Africa's most trusted environmental infrastructure company.

01 · Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Nashaira Belisa Smith

Entrepreneur bridging international best practice with the realities of Lagos — turning environmental delivery into ESG proof that governments and investors can stand behind.

Nashaira is CEO and Co-Founder of SweepAm, an environmental recovery company restoring Nigeria's land and water — visibly, measurably and permanently. Under her leadership, SweepAm developed AquaSweep, its flagship lagoon recovery system combining floating interception units, dive teams and GPS-verified chain-of-custody tracking from water to recycler.

With a background in business and international relations, she leads SweepAm's strategy, commercial partnerships and institutional engagement — from proposals with international sporting and technology partners to endorsement at the highest levels of Nigerian government. Her cross-cultural fluency shapes SweepAm's model: adapting the world's proven environmental practices to Lagos, and packaging the results as verifiable ESG delivery.

Before SweepAm, Nashaira founded House of Royals, a business consultancy that built the commercial experience now underpinning SweepAm's growth. She also founded Project OMI, a philanthropic initiative distributing clean water and installing boreholes in underserved Lagos communities including Makoko. That same instinct — deliver something people can see and touch — runs through everything SweepAm does: proof over promises.

02 · Chief Legal Officer & Co-Founder

Jady Akhigbe

Legal professional and sustainability entrepreneur translating proven Dutch circular-economy practice into high-impact solutions for emerging markets.

Jady is a legal professional and sustainability entrepreneur committed to advancing environmental innovation and circular economy solutions across emerging markets. As Chief Legal Officer of SweepAm, she leads the company's legal, regulatory and partnership frameworks — from government engagement to the chain-of-custody standards that make SweepAm's environmental claims verifiable.

Raised in the Netherlands — a global leader in circular economy practice — and of Nigerian and Surinamese heritage, Jady brings a rare dual perspective: firsthand knowledge of the world's most advanced sustainability systems, and a deep understanding of the realities and opportunities of the markets SweepAm serves.

She holds a background in International and European Law and has collaborated with Fortune 500 companies and internationally recognized organizations, building deep experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-sector partnerships. At SweepAm, that expertise anchors the company's ambition to redefine waste as a valuable resource — for cleaner cities, stronger communities and a more sustainable future.

03 · Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder

Stella Ojiuba

Operator with a technical foundation in cloud and security, applying systems thinking to fleet, routing and collection across the communities SweepAm serves.

Stella is Chief Operating Officer of SweepAm, where she oversees field operations and logistics — fleet management, route optimization and collection operations — ensuring reliable, efficient service delivery across the communities SweepAm serves.

She brings a multidisciplinary background spanning IT operations, cloud security and technical project management, with experience across Adroit Staffing LLC, House of Royals and Cedarcare Hospital. Stella holds AWS Solutions Architect – Associate and Cloud Practitioner certifications alongside the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) credential — a technical foundation that shapes her systems-driven approach to operational planning, resource allocation and process optimization.

Her commitment to community impact runs deep. She led the execution of Project OMI, a clean water access initiative in Lagos's Makoko community, delivering it end-to-end from planning through completion. She also mentors emerging tech talent through the ALX Africa program and regularly hosts community-focused technology sessions.
